Strict action on Rashid, who got the country Olympic gold in hockey, the reason - Prime Minister Imran was slandered

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has banned former Olympian Rashid-ul-Hasan for 10 years. Rashid is accused of criticizing Prime Minister Imran Khan on social media, using wrong words against him. On the other hand, Rashid termed the allegations as outright false. He said- Pakistan Hockey Federation and the government are trying to suppress the truth. Media should be free in this country.

Pakistan won the gold medal in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and Rashid's performance in this tournament was excellent. He has also been seen as a hockey expert on many TV channels of Pakistan.

According to a report in 'The Dawn' newspaper, the decision to ban Rashid has been taken by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PFH). Rashid is accused of strongly criticizing Prime Minister Imran Khan on the poor condition of hockey and sports in the country. According to the Federation- Rashid had used very dirty words for the Prime Minister and it cannot be tolerated.

Recently, when this matter came to light, the President of the Federation, Retired Brigadier Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, got a call from the Sports Ministry. First his video was deleted from social media and now he has been banned after investigation.

Rashid, opposing the ban, has decided to challenge it in court. Rashid said- I did not say anything wrong about Wazir-e-Azam on any social media platform. Media freedom has already been snatched away in our country and now preparations are on to rein in social media as well. For me Imran was and will be the Prime Minister of our country. I also respect his position.
